Modern North End Bungalow Downstairs w/Parking!

Not a bungalow… Positive: Clean, kitchen well equipped, good air conditioning, good communication Negative: It is NOT a bungalow, but rather a BASEMENT apartment. It was really loud and sounded like a herd of elephants were above you everyone the person above walked. It had a mildew smell. No plug in the bathtub. Extra charge for: early check in, late check out, not doing dishes, etc. It was super overpriced for a smelly loud basement apartment. I don’t recommend this one.

For the price, I could have done SO MUCH BETTER. Positive: Management was responsive but also forgot to include a second set of sheets for the second bed (a fold out couch). Negative: The listing does not indicate it is a basement. I was expecting a ground floor cottage. It felt like a bait and switch/false advertising. The strong mildew smell was really a problem. It gave me a headache. There are signs of ongoing water damage in the bathroom and a strong mildew smell in the wardrobe. The whole apartment reeked of it. There was a strange direct email from the property managers, from outside of the booking.com site. They wanted me to sign a multipage contract attachment. The contract said nothing about cancellation whereas the booking.com site had a free cancellation option. I signed anyway as I was pretty sure I wouldn’t cancel. The ceilings do not block normal sounds from upstairs. The noise from the upstairs neighbor was really loud, even though the neighbors were just walking around (until 1:30 am) and I’m glad I had earplugs. The apartment was a little hard to find, a light would be helpful. The entrance is a side staircase going down to a basement. The second bed sagged in the middle so would be ok for sleeping one person but not two. The planters by the curbs were granite blocks about two inches tall. They are invisible at night. and I tripped on them getting out of the car. I’m glad my elderly friend didn’t park there.

Bring ear plugs to sleep! Positive: We liked the location and the layout itself, really cute remodel. Negative: We could hear the tenants upstairs all the time! Morning, noon, and night...When they were home, it sounded like elephants upstairs and would wake us up out of a dead sleep. Also, multiple times I went to use the laundry, and it was taken up by staff. Some of the blankets were not clean and smelled bad that were folded in the closets for use.

Positive: This was a great place to stay. Very clean, very quiet and walkable to everything. I will definitely stay here again my next trip to Boise.
